The Indian Army has released the official notification for the Short Service Commission (SSC) NCC Special Entry Scheme 125th Course (April 2027) for unmarried female candidates (including Wards of Battle Casualties of Indian Army Personnel).

This direct entry scheme allows eligible NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders to attend the Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview directly without appearing for a written entrance examination.Selected candidates will undergo a 49-week training program at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, before being commissioned into the rank of Lieutenant.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit (as on 01 January 2027)

  • Minimum Age:19 Years
  • Maximum Age:25 Years
  • Candidates must have been born between 02 January 2002 and 01 January 2008 (both dates inclusive).

2. Educational Qualification & NCC Standards

  • For NCC ‘C’ Certificate Candidates:
    • Degree:Bachelor’s Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years.
    • Final-Year Students:Permitted to apply provided they have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks up to the qualifying semester/year and can furnish their final degree passing proof before the course start date.
    • NCC Service:Minimum two/three academic years of service in the Senior Division / Senior Wing of the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
    • NCC Grading:Minimum ‘B’ Grade obtained in the NCC ‘C’ Certificate Examination.
  • For Wards of Battle Casualties:
    • Degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
    • Exemption:NCC ‘C’ certificate is not required for eligible battle casualty dependents.

Selection Process

The selection pathway involves direct merit screening without an entrance test:

  1. Shortlisting of Applications:Shortlisting based on graduation percentages and meeting NCC criteria.
  2. SSB Interview (Stage I & Stage II):5-day assessment at Selection Centres (Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar) comprising Psychological Tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks, and Personal Interview.
  3. Medical Examination: Recommended candidates undergo comprehensive medical evaluation by Special Medical Boards.
  4. Final Merit List & Joining:Based solely on marks scored in the SSB Interview, subject to medical fitness and available vacancies.

How to Apply

  1. Go to the official Join Indian Army portal at joinindianarmy.nic.in.
  2. Complete the website homepage security check to enter the dashboard.
  3. Click on the “Officers Entry Apply/Login” option on the top menu.
  4. Complete the registration or enter your existing login credentials.
  5. Under your profile dashboard, navigate to Apply Online and select Short Service Commission NCC Special Entry Scheme (Women).
  6. Carefully fill in personal profile data, educational performance, NCC ‘C’ certificate information, and previous SSB attempt details.
  7. Upload digital copies of your passport photo, signature, degree certificates, and the valid NCC ‘C’ Certificate.
  8. Check all entries on the summary preview page and click Submit.
  9. Print two copies of the submitted application form bearing the system-generated Roll Number for submission during the SSB interview.
